How expensive is it really living in Hong Kong? Spending habits obviously vary enormously from person to person, however in this blog I hope to shed some light on how much, a typical fun loving girl in her late 20’s, would spend over a week in the City. 

Hong Kong is consistently rated as one of the most expensive cities in the world and was recently ranked number 1 the World’s Most Expensive City Report in 2020 by the World Economic Forum.

Today, we are not talking about macro economics. Let’s do something more…FUN! I have compiled all my expenses over the last week into one little video to give you an idea of how much it costs a person like me to live in the City.

Especially during these COVID times, I tend not to spend too much on unnecessary items.

I thought this would be a good chance for me to see where my money goes and also to give some insight to those who are curious to know how expensive living in Hong Kong is. Whether you are already a resident of the +852 or if you are considering a holiday or a move to the city, I hope this video will give you an idea of what things cost for someone like me.

I hope you enjoy my video, it was a lot of fun to make and also start being a little bit more aware of how much should I spend. I might do a budget video next time, giving myself a legit budget for a week and see how that goes!
